We started our vacation off great by arriving at Germfask safely. However, the same night, we decided to get ice cream, and the truck was making a weird noise. We were fearing the worst, wheel bearing. Recommendations from a local store pointed us to Fox River Automotive. I have nothing but kind words to say of Gramps. I've yet to learn his name. Google said he was open. However, we learned differently. Despite being closed, Grandpa took our truck for a ride and advised us of our problems. He even received a phone call from his family telling him breakfast was ready. It's very scary to be 6 hours from home and no way to get around . We are blessed and thankful that Grandpa took the time out of his schedule to diagnose the issue, let us fix it on his property, and a promise to come back after he visits his family from Pennsylvania. His grandson was pretty awesome, too. He didn't have to help at all. He could have simply stated his business was closed and closed the door. May Gid bless this man and young man.

We had trouble with our AC in our Suburban and were on vacation. We stopped in and they were able to fit us in last minute and get us all fixed up in about 45 minutes. They were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend!

All around professional and caring experience. Punctured a tire driving around the back roads. They looked at the tire the next morning and said they could fix it. I ended up having them put on 4 new tires (the tires were needing to be replaced and there was absolutely no pressure to buy new tires). I was in and out in an under 2 hrs. Fantastic service.

We had trouble with a tire on our recent vacation to the UP. We found this business through Google, and fortunately were only a few miles away. The staff was kind and friendly and took time out of their other work to change our tire very quickly for a reasonable cost. They also helped us find the closest place to purchase a new set of tires. We would highly recommend this business.

Beyond grateful!! Traveling with my family through the U.P. from Detroit area on our way to northern Wisconsin when my truck started acting up. Was directed to Fox River. Elijah quickly got it into the rack and smartly diagnosed as a bad transfer case. He was able to locate the part (in central Wisconsin) and got the work done in less than a day once part arrived for a fair price. Allowed us to attend a very important function. I absolutely love this shop and the owner! We were traveling from the lower peninsula and we busted a bearing on our vehicle. Fox River was the closest automotive store around. We were grateful when we found out they had our bearing parts. We had a few complications because we didn't have the tools we needed, especially after we found the bearing welded itself onto the spindle. The owner so graciously took the time to help us even though he said he was swamped and had a lot of work to do for the locals before the 4th of july. Thanks to him, we can finish our vacation knowing we're safe and ready to ride. Thank you Fox River Automotive!!! They're truly the best at what they do!!

We had a backcountry camping disaster and the owners of the superior hotel in grand marias sent us to Elijah. He Came out and met us on the side of the road to fill up my transmission to make sure we could make it to the shop. Then the part that we needed for my car was nowhere near the area and he did everything he could to make sure that they got the parts shipped up to us in a quick amount of time so that I could still make it home nine hours away. He fit me in his very busy schedule and Fix my transmission so I was able to drive all the way home without any issue. I was scared because I had my 6 year old daughter with me and He assured me that he was going to do everything to make sure We got home and he did.

I was 4 hours in to a 900 mile drive when the front corner of my heat shield came off and was dragging along the ground. I limped the 10 miles to their shop and they helped me right away and had me back on the road within 30 min. They were very honest and helpful and didn't overcharge. Excellent experience! The senior mechanic (maybe he was also owner?) saw us with no delay despite our arriving at lunchtime with no appointment. Out problem was with a trailer sway bar.. a type he hadn't seen before. But his knowledge and experience allowed him to quickly diagnose and fix the problem. For a very reasonable price. And not only that, when he found out our planned itinerary, he made suggestions, pulled up an online map for us, and even sold us a couple of his mom's homemade pasties ( local specialty) and butterscotch cookies. I wish I knew of a mechanic this good, this honest, and this friendly in my own hometown!
